St. Luke's invites the community to several annual fundraising events, the Spring Fair, held the last Saturday of April, and the Christmas Bazaar, held the second to last Saturday of November. Both events are held in the church hall and are well attended by parishioners and the surrounding community.
The stalls and activities include home baking, jams and jellies, knitted, sewn and special item handicrafts, White Elephant, dried flowers and arrangements, plants at the Spring Fair, jewelry, antiques, collectibles, a silent auction, books, audio visual, and games.
There are always line-ups waiting for the doors to open at 10 am and the people in charge of parking are kept busy until closing at 2 pm.
Proceeds from the Christmas Bazaar help to support ministries of St. Luke’s Church such as youth activities, Fantastic Fridays, seniors’ ministry through home and hospital visiting, prayer chain ministry, and the music ministry program.
Also supported are activities and organizations in the community such as the Shelbourne Community Kitchen, the UVic Chaplaincy, the Sisters of St. John the Divine, Project Connect, and other local, national, and international charitable organizations.
