Ruth MacIntosh (St. John’s), Leslie Flynn (St. George’s), and Sharon Hallsor (St. Luke’s) are working together this year to offer as many different experiences as possible to students interested in developing their faith with other Christian youth. In addition, we want to give them a chance to participate in some of the external events that are being organized on the island, provincially, and nationally.

Sundays, October to June
Recommended for 13 years +
Starting Sunday, October 15
Ruth and Sharon are leading this 9-month confirmation program designed to empower youth to explore their faith and ask questions that they actually wonder about the Bible, creed, disciples, Jesus, other beliefs, and hot topics. If interested, please inquire to see if your child is ready for this in-depth exploration of faith.  Pre-registration and payment are required.

For more information or to register contact Ruth MacIntosh or Sharon Hallsor.

IMR Multi-Media
at St. Luke’s (3821 Cedar Hill X Rd.)
Friday afternoons (bi-weekly) 3:30-5:30 pm
Grade 6-12
Starting Friday, October 27

Now in its second year, this youth led group, supported by experienced instructors, takes a collaborative approach to multi-media creation and design, through hands on development of computer games, apps, group web-page, music, and movies. Youth are given an opportunity to explore what their Christian values look like when being communicated digitally. (In case you are wondering...IMR stands for 'It's Magically Religious'!)

For more information or to register, contact Kathleen Dow.

Sundays @ 5
at St. George’s (3909 St. George’s Lane, Cadboro Bay)
Sunday evenings (weekly) 5:00-6:30 pm ongoing

University and College students are invited to drop by the St. George’s Lower Hall every Sunday at 5:00pm for a free home cooked meal and some great company! The Sundays@5 Program is a place where anyone is welcome at the table. Each week we share a meal and then spend some time making music, playing a game, or just hanging out. This is a great way to build community and make new friends. The program runs during the school semester from September to April.

Check out the Sundays@5 Facebook page. For more information contact Leslie Flynn.

British Columbia Yukon Anglican Youth Movement
Friday, October 6 - 6:30 pm to Monday, October 9 - 9:30 am

What does science have to do with faith? What does the universe have to tell us about God? These are some of the things to be explored at this Fall Conference. The theme speaker will be John Stephens who, before being ordained, completed both a Bachelor of Science degree at UBC (in zoology and evolutionary biology) and a Masters in Divinity. With this background, he is very excited to be leading a thought provoking weekend with youth, and discussing our place in an ever-expanding universe! Weekend schedule filled with workshops, discussions, games, activities, great food, singing, worship, our Annual General meeting, Thanksgiving dinner, dance, lots of friends and fun! We will also have an opportunity to participate in a service project and an activity in the wider community.

Registration Info is online. Cost: $180.00 - includes accommodation, transportation from major city centers, meals, theme sessions, activities, and much more!

Note: Our youth group leaders, Clay and Teaghan are executive members of BCYAYM and are part of the team who have organized this event and of course will be there! In addition, Leslie is going as one of the Adult supervisors. The Fall conference looks like it is going to be awesome!
