We have chosen a World of Gifts Project through Alongside Hope (previously the Primate's World Relief and Development Fund) as our Christmas Stocking Project.
We will start our Christmas Stocking Project on the First Sunday of Advent (November 30th) and it will continue to Christmas Day. Our project will be buying donkeys for families in Kenya. In rural Kenya, a donkey can make everyday life a little easier. By carrying heavy loads of water, firewood, or building materials, donkeys ease the burden on women, children, and the elderly. They support families who might otherwise struggle with daily chores, and can even help generate income through transport work.
You are invited to drop your gold coins (Loonies or Toonies) into the Christmas stocking at the back of the church or to put a special donation into the collection plate labelled “Donkey Project”. Money designated in the collection or collected in the stocking from now to Christmas Day will be sent to the Alongside Hope to buy donkeys for families in Kenya.
Each of our gifts of $160 will help make water more accessible for families in Kenya by buying a donkey for a family.
