Watch Bishop Anna's sermon for the second week of Easter as we journey together this Easter season.
Hallelujah. Christ has risen. Christ has risen indeed. My friends, it is the season of Easter. Easter is a 50 day season, the 40 days of Lent were getting us ready for this, getting us ready for new life, getting us ready for resurrection, getting us ready to walk with the risen Christ. And so my friends, this Easter season, I'm going to invite you to come along on a few adventures with me.
We're beginning right here in my backyard, so you can see my beautiful Camellia tree. Next week we're heading off to Parksville for clergy conference, the week after that to Niagara Falls for House of Bishops. And then there's a few adventures in our own diocese: heading to Mayne Island, having a wonderful diocesan confirmation.
We're also going north to Terrace, BC, somewhere I've never been, to meet with other people in our ecclesiastical province for congregational development. The best thing about being a bishop is you never know what's going to happen. So, journey with me this Easter season, please. We will see together how God is everywhere and always breathing new life into the church, into the church's people, into the body of Christ.
There is new life amongst us. There is hope. There is resurrection and we need to see it. In the Easter season, Christ comes to us and tells us to feed his sheep, to tend his lambs, to follow him out into the world, to not be afraid. Christ is risen. Christ is risen indeed. Please journey with me this Easter season.
