While we didn't have a Community Cemetery Cleanup in September, groups and individuals have been cleaning up in the cemetery and it's looking great.
A BIG THANK YOU TO:
• Our cemetery headstone cleaning volunteer who worked in August and September and cleaned 158 headstones this year. She also found more veterans as she was cleaning the headstones. The veterans will be added to list of veterans list who will be honoured at the Service of Remembrance on November 9th.
• Our Groundskeeper, Nathan Karcher and his crew from Karcher Landscaping, as well as our part-time gardener, Rebecca Ford.
• Family members, who have cleaned their family plot over the summer or in September.
A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO:
• The 1st Cedar Hill Scouts, led by Genessa Poilievre, who did a great job cleaning up in the cemetery on evening of September 25th. Genessa planned and organized this work bee as the last piece of her Chief Scout Award. About 15 scouts along with their leaders helped with the cleanup from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. They needed headlamps to finish the cleanup! The pictures above show how great the cemetery looks after the cleanup! Thanks to Genessa, and the 1st Cedar Hill Scouts.
Thanks to Tara Poilievre for sharing these pictures.
