On November 4th, over 400 students from Cedar Hill Middle School visited St. Luke's Cemetery to take part in two back-to-back No Stone Left Alone ceremonies to recognize veterans in St. Luke's Cemetery.

The principal, students, and teachers read stories from the trenches, explained and played the Last Post and Reveille, read poems including In Flanders Fields in French (Au champ d'honneur), played a drum song, laid wreathes, told stories of veterans, and placed poppy rocks on 20 veterans' graves. Each ceremony started with O Canada and ended with God Save the Queen.

It was very moving to see the students honouring the veterans in this way.

A big thank you to the Cedar Hill Middle School Principal, Maryanne Trofimuk, and the teachers and other staff members at Cedar Hill Middle School for reaching out to St. Luke's and organizing this ceremony in St. Luke's cemetery. Thank you as well to CFB Esquimalt for all their work arranging the sound system and their help with the set up.

Thank you to Brenda Morgan, Barb Prescott, and Cedar Hill Middle School Principal, Maryanne Trofimuk, for sharing these pictures.
