The bishop of the Anglican Diocese of British Columbia seeks a full-time incumbent for the parish of St Peter, Campbell River (mid-Vancouver Island).

BACKGROUND

The Diocese of British Columbia is an equitable employer that operates with humility and gratitude to the First Peoples of Turtle Island on whose traditional lands we work and play. We are a regional expression of the Anglican Church of Canada, part of the worldwide Anglican Communion, and one part of the whole body of Christ. We are a progressive church where seekers are welcome to receive communion, baptism, marriage and ordination on an equal basis. The parish of St Peter is one of twelve Anglican parishes in the mid-Vancouver Island area and one of forty-six diocesan parishes extending across Vancouver Island, the Gulf Islands of the Salish Sea and Kingcome Inlet.

OUR MINISTRY

St Peter is a community centred around the eucharist and actively seeking to create a tangible expression of Christian outreach in which everyone is welcomed, offered love and given acceptance. The community’s heart is drawn to caring for one another and building connections through prayer, adaptive technology and active support of the local community in Campbell River. They are looking for a leader who will: continue to guide them in using technology to connect; build relationships and engage in reconciliation with the local First Nations communities; and, grow the parish’s ministry in a way that is balanced and addresses the many needs of the varied demographics.

YOUR MINISTRY WITH US

If your priestly vocation aligns with where God seems to be leading St Peter, we want to hear from you. The parish profile can be obtained from Tara Saracuse, executive assistant to the bishop. Deadline for applications is April 4, 2022.

Applicants who are Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents are preferred.
