THIS WEEK’S PARISH NEWS – June 16 – June 23 (**New Items, *Revised Items)

Please stay for Coffee Time this Sunday after the 10 am service – Park on Synod Road for easy access via the side door of the hall.

**We welcome Emma Robertson to role of videographer. Emma will be looking after the videography at the 10 am service three Sundays per month. Neil will continue to provide videography services one Sunday each month.

**The Church Office will be closed on Thursday, June 20th as Neil will be attending a Parish Administrator’s Day.

*The Deadline was last Friday, June 14th for the Summer issue of St. Luke's Prescription but we always allow a few days grace. If you haven’t already sent in your articles, photos, poems, and other creative endeavours to Sharon McMillan or Barb Prescott, or to communications@stlukecedarhill.ca, please send them in the next few days.

*Looking for a Prescription Editor In the Easter Prescription, we mentioned that Sharon McMillan would like to step down as The Prescription editor in order to make time to pursue her own creative endeavours. This is a chance for someone else to take on the fun of helping to create The Prescription. This is not an “every week kind of a job” as some volunteer positions are. One just needs some time available four times a year (during about a 2-3 week period leading up to publication) to work on pulling together the articles and pictures sent in for the Prescription. Barb plans to continue as co-editor but we would like someone else to take on Sharon’s part of the process. Please talk to Sharon or Barb Prescott or one of the Wardens if you are interested.

*The Outsider Presented by St. Luke’s Players. A timely and hilarious comedy that skewers politics and celebrates democracy. Performances in the evenings are at 7:30 pm Wednesday to Saturday, on June 19th – 22nd. Matinees are at 2:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday, June 16th, 21st, and 22nd. Tickets are $18, available through EventBrite or at the door. See more information at the Events page.

**The May and June Faith Tides is now available online at the News page of St. Luke’s website. Print copies are available in the church or from the parish office. Or please call the office (250-477-6741) to ask to have a copy delivered. See more information on the News page.

**Recent Work in the Cemetery and Thank You for Your Donations – Work in the cemetery this spring has included trimming of a Port Laurel bush and tree. See pictures at theNews page. Work earlier this year included repairing the dry stone wall, creating stairs to the area by the shed, and some miscellaneous repairs (totalling just over $5,000). Thank you for the donations we have received to date ($2,289), which we have put towards the repairs and the tree pruning. To make a tax receiptable donation towards the repairs and upkeep such as tree pruning, please visit the Donations for the Upkeep of St. Luke's Cemetery link at the Cemetery page of St. Luke’ website to find out how to make a donation by cheque or cash, using a credit card, or by e-transfer. Or make a donation in your envelope noting that your donation is for the cemetery.
