Special Music at St. Luke's

Choral highlights include our combined Services with Lutheran Church of the Cross (www.lutheranvictoria.ca) on Palm Sunday and the first Sunday in Advent. In 2018, St. Luke's hosted an ecumenical service on the First Sunday in Advent, December 2, which featured readings and music to start the Advent season. Besides St. Luke's and Church of the Cross, participating churches were Knox Presbyterian and Holy Cross Catholic Church.

We also have special music at the Christmas Pageant, Christmas Eve services, Feast of the Epiphany Carol service, and during Holy Week (Palm Sunday, Good Friday, Easter Sunday Services, and the Easter Children's Service).

Our Soloists' Program often features some of our fabulous volunteer choir members, other volunteer musicians from the congregation and/or local guest musicians. Musical selections from many centuries, genres and types (classical, baroque, contemporary, folk, etc.) are presented.

The Music Ministry Concerts have raised funds for the Choral Scholar program and other programs as needed and showcased St. Luke’s Choral Scholars and friends.  Click here to read the Saanich News announcement of the October 2016 Anything Goes too! fundraising concert.

A Harp Choir with harpers Dorothy Cook, Lyn Oldale and Joan Scandrett has played at various morning and evening services, as well as on some high feast days and on other special occasions.
