Susanne is leaving St. Luke’s after 22 years of Music Ministry. (The announcement, which was read in church on June 8th, is included below.)
Susanne’s last service with us will be at 10 am on Sunday, June 22nd.
Please stay after the service for a special coffee time to say good-bye to her.
An Announcement Read on Sunday, June 8th
I am reading this announcement on behalf of Daniel and the wardens to let you know of an important change that will be taking place at St. Luke’s this month.
Our Music Director, Susanne, is leaving St. Luke’s after 22 years. The last time she will play for us is at the 10 am service on Sunday, June 22nd. We invite you to attend this service and to stay for a special coffee hour after the service to say good-bye to her.
Susanne is taking the summer months off, the first time in 25 years, for some well-deserved vacation and rest time, and will start the position of Music Director at St Andrew’s Presbyterian church downtown on Broughton Street at the beginning of September. They have a Ferrari organ with 73 stops and she is looking forward to making some beautiful music on it.
We will arrange for musical coverage over the summer and will form a committee to look for our new Music Director.
We wish to say a public thank you to Susanne for her outstanding work over the last 22 years as leader of the St. Luke’s Music Ministry Team, as well as her special dedication and service to the choir. Besides Susanne’s professional time worked for the parish, we would also like to acknowledge with gratitude that she has given many volunteer hours to the parish in her work.
Please keep Susanne and St. Luke’s in your prayers through this time of transition for Susanne and for all of us.
