Throughout the year, St. Luke's collects monetary donations and donations of food for the Pantry Program for the Shelbourne Community Kitchen. St. Luke is one of the founding partners of the Shelbourne Community Kitchen and also supports the Kitchen through the Cedar Hill Garden (the garden at St. Luke’s behind South Island Counselling), which was installed in the fall of 2021.
St. Luke's supports South Island Counselling through a rent subsidy of approximately half of the market value of the Centre's monthly rent, subsidy of at least $12,000 per year.
As well, St. Luke's takes on special outreach fundraising initiatives such as the Pieced Peace Donation Auction in 2022, with donations going to the Red Cross for the Ukraine Humanitarian Crisis Appeal. In the spring of 2023, St. Luke's collected donations in Loonies for Lent boxes and other monetary donations towards Earthquake Relief for Turkey and Syria. See the News story here.
