Giving Tuesday is a global philanthropy movement to inspire people to give back to causes that they are passionate about and that they believe will strengthen their communities.

This year’s Giving Tuesday is on November 30th and the Shelbourne Community Kitchen needs your help to keep healthy food accessible during the holidays and into the winter months ahead.

By making a donation to the Shelbourne Community Kitchen on November 30th, your donation will help provide nutritious food for hundreds of families and individuals who access our services. An anonymous donor has also generously offered to match donations to a total of $25,000! What an exciting opportunity to double your donation and promote food security in Victoria.

The Shelbourne Community Kitchen is a warm, welcoming neighbourhood food centre located in the Shelbourne Valley. Over the past 7 years, The Kitchen has offered programs and services that create opportunities for people who are living on a low income to access fresh and nutritious food, to prepare and share meals together, and to grow food while building gardening skills. Amidst the global pandemic, cost of living including the cost of food continues to climb. In order to meet increasing demand, we need your help to provide dignified food support services that are at the heart of The Kitchen’s vision. Together we can build community and belonging around food.

Donations can be made online via Canada Helps on November 30th.
