Community Cemetery Cleanup Morning

Community Cemetery Cleanup Morning

This Saturday, June 8th - 9:00 -11:30 am

Please drop in at any time on Saturday morning to see what’s new in the cemetery, ask a Cemetery Committee member to help you find a family grave, or to assist with the cleanup. Please bring gloves and, if possible, tools such as clippers, scrapers, a rake, or an outdoor broom. Many hands make light work.

Another Community Cemetery Cleanup Morning will be held on July 13th. Hope to see you one of the Cemetery Cleanup mornings.

Everyone welcome!

View the updated Cemetery Database here

You can find a link to the Cemetery Database on the top menu at St. Luke's website (www.stlukesvictoria.ca). From this link, it's possible to view the database on your phone while visiting the cemetery to look for a family grave.

The main Cemetery Database is an Access database which is housed on the computer in the Parish Office, with copies offsite as well. The Cemetery Database at the website is uploaded to the website from the main database.

Please note that not all recent interments have yet been entered into the database. The database is a work in progress with updating to the main database continually happening and updates to the database at the website happening periodically.

Work Presently Being Done in the Cemetery and Thank You for Your Donations

Work presently happening in the cemetery this spring includes the trimming of a Port Laurel bush and tree. The picture above is of the bush prior to pruning. The More Pictures link below shows the bush after its pruning and the tree that will be pruned soon.

Work earlier this year included repairing a dry stone wall, creating stairs to the area by the shed, and some miscellaneous repairs (totalling just over $5,000). Read the News story here about this work.

Thank you for donations we have received to date towards these repairs ($1,165).

To make a tax receiptable donation towards the repairs and upkeep such as tree pruning, please visit the Donations for the Upkeep of St. Luke's Cemetery link.
