THIS WEEK’S PARISH NEWS – March 22 – 28 (**New Items, *Revised Items)

**Church Closed – All Events Cancelled – On March 16th, Bishop Logan McMenamie ordered all churches in the diocese closed for all public use, including worship, for sixty (60) days effective immediately.

**Please join us every Sunday on your electronic device (computer, phone, ipad, etc.) to watch our weekly liturgical service which will be posted at St. Luke’s Facebook page (you don’t have to be a Facebook member to watch) and at St Luke’s website.

**St. Luke’s Office is Closed, with the exception of basic essential operations in the maintenance of the business of the church. Bonnie and Daniel will be available by phone calls to the office (250-477-6741) or e-mails ([email protected]) or ([email protected]).

**Support for the Ongoing Ministry of St. Luke’s Church – During this time when we are not able to gather together physically for worship, it is still important that we continue to support the ongoing ministry of St. Luke’s Church. If you are not signed for the electronic collection plate (ECP), signing up now is an excellent opportunity for you to ensure your regular contribution is available for the work of the church. Please contact Barb Prescott by e-mail ([email protected]) or through the parish office (250-477-6741) and she will help you set this up.

**Donations in the mail or through Canada Helps are also very welcome – If you regularly give by putting your envelope in the collection plate, we would ask you to please mail a cheque instead during this time. St. Luke's mailing address is 3821 Cedar Hill Cross Rd., Victoria, BC  V8P 2M6. Offerings received this way will be counted and deposited regularly and added to your envelope donations. Donations may also be made through Canada Helps. Use the Donate Now button on the top menu of the website. Please also refer to the Ways to Donate page for more information.

*Support for the Shelbourne Community Kitchen – We are looking for ways to continue to support the Shelbourne Community Kitchen Pantry Program through this time. Watch for more information regarding dropping off needed items. Meanwhile monetary donations to the Kitchen are appreciated. You may make a donation by writing a cheque payable to St. Luke’s, noting that the donation is for the Kitchen or by going online to the Kitchen’s website and making a donation to the Kitchen via Canada Helps.

*Any Further Submissions for St. Luke’s Prescription? – We are still planning to produce an Easter Prescription, although most copies will be distributed electronically. If you have any last minute submissions, please send them by e-mail to St. Luke’s Office ([email protected]) or to Sharon McMillan ([email protected]).

**Check out St. Luke’s Website – We now have a new section called St. Luke’s At Home, where we will share information during this time of being St. Luke’s in a different way, in our homes. Please check out the resources there and feel free to send comments and suggestions to Barb Prescott at c[email protected].
