Opening Hymn: CP 212
Alleluia! The Strife is O’er
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

The strife is o'er, the battle done,
now is the victor's triumph won;
O let the song of praise be sung:
alleluia!

Death's mightiest powers
have done their worst,
and Jesus hath his foes dispersed:
let shouts of praise and joy outburst:
alleluia!

He closed the yawning gates of hell;
the bars from heaven's high portals fell.
Let songs of praise his triumphs tell:
alleluia!

On the third morn he rose again,
glorious in majesty to reign.
O let us swell the joyful strain:
alleluia!

Lord, by the stripes which wounded thee,
from death's dread sting thy servants free,
that we may live and sing to thee:
alleluia!

Gradual Hymn: CP 434
The Love of Jesus Calls Us
The love of Jesus calls us
our joyous praise to sing;
our deeply felt thanksgivings
we now together bring,
for all God’s many blessings,
unasked yet still received,
and for the generations
who faithfully believed.

The love of Jesus calls us,
that we may always be
companions on a journey,
where all the world may see
that serving Christ is freedom
which time does not destroy;
where Christ’s command is duty,
and every duty joy.

The love of Jesus calls us
to go where he would go,
to challenge all that limits,
to change, to learn, to grow,
to know that Christ has freed us,
that prisons are no more;
for those who seek his kingdom,
Christ opens every door.

The love of Jesus calls us,
in swiftly changing days,
to be God’s co-creators
in new and wondrous ways;
that God with men and women
may so transform the earth,
that love and peace and justice
may give God’s kingdom birth.

Closing Hymn: CP 405
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Give Thanks to the Risen Lord

Refrain: Alleluia, alleluia!
Give thanks to the risen Lord.
Alleluia, alleluia!
Give praise to his name.

Jesus is Lord of all the earth;
he is the king of creation. [Refrain]

Spread the good news o’er all the earth:
Jesus has died and is risen. [Refrain]

We have been crucified with Christ:
now we shall live for ever. [Refrain]

Come, let us praise the living God,
joyfully sing to our Saviour. [Refrain]
