 iful music and inspirational words\, conducive to meditative reflection an
 d spirituality.\nAbout This Service\nOffering a combination of inspiration
 al poems\, thoughtful prose passages\, untraditional prayers\, intersperse
 d with complementary music\, St. Luke's Reflections Service focuses on spi
 rituality. Drawing on the tradition of evensong\, the service recognizes o
 ur need for stillness and connection to the soul at the end of the day.\nR
 eferencing the seasons\, the service acknowledges the liturgical calendar 
 through both the words and the music. The theme\, introduced through the w
 ords\, is given added depth through the music. The gorgeous ambience of th
 e softly lit church adds to contemplative atmosphere that places us in a s
 tate of prayer. Reflections provides another way to encounter the Divine.

 Brenda Morie is a seasoned multi-instrumentalist\, vocalist\, and recordin
 g artist with over 30 years of international touring and studio experience
 . Originally from Edmonton and now based in Victoria\, she is a Canada Cou
 ncil Grant recipient and the artist behind the jazz album Meant to Be.\nBr
 enda teaches at the Victoria Conservatory of Music and performs regularly 
 with Soulfire (Latin/jazz/funk fusion)\, The New Swiftsure Big Band\, Beez
 wild Duo/Trio (roots\, folk\, pop)\, and leads her own jazz trio and quart
 et—delivering music that’s rich in texture\, heart\, and global rhythm
